Become a Holiday Angel to a Family in Need: Holiday Hack #3

Welcome to the Holiday Hacks blog series where we quickly describe ways to get kids more involved in the spirit of Christmas and Hanukkah – for yes, less. Our third entry is a little more work, but packs a big “Wow, are we lucky” punch. When your kids present you with their wish-list(s), present them with one from a family in need (which you can pick up at a local outreach program such as New Circles). Suggest that everyone “donate” the cost of one item on their wish list to a household fund destined to be spent on fulfilling the needs of your family’s outreach family. Almost nothing underscores how fortunate kids are more than seeing a “wish-list” populated with items as mundane as laundry soap, toothbrushes, and dish cloths.

This holiday season, we at Gifting Sense encourage you to make sure that your children understand the full value of their requests, and how saving even the cost of toothbrush can do some serious good. To learn how, click on the pink or green buttons below.
